I know someone who may still have a t28 turbo from his s14 still sitting in the shed, so i was wanting to know if that would work ok on a VL? I've heard of t3/t28 adaptor plates that will let me use it on the stock rb30 turbo manifold. If not, is there any other turbos that would work good (and not too pricey) other than T3s?
anything smaller than a T3 is a waist of time and money!
^^^ what nackerz said.... a T3 is too small i think lol
alright then.. ive just been having a pretty hard time finding a used t3 down here, and wasnt too sure about a t28.
arent t28s stock on rb25's?
dunno but t3's are smaller enough as it is and laggy as ****, i skipped the t3 straight away lol
off wikipedia
RB25DET - twin-cam turbo (T28 Turbo) (245 to 250 hp and 319 N·m)
so yes its of a rb25
so the t28 would be no where near as laggy as the shitty t3
t3 laggy? are you kidding me

My t3 highflow was spooling at 1800 and full boost at 2500. Laggy LOL it was pretty much spooling whenever i had my foot on the go pedal

like i said better then a t3 if you had driven a car with t28 and then a t3 you would know but you havent so i rest my case.
in the end yes you could run the t28 thats up to you but best of to onvest that $$$ towards something a bit better just depends how seriouse you want to get????
rb25's are a 2.5 litre motor remember. you have an extra 500cc of air to move!
I dunno about this "t3's are laggy" business ....a GT51 that won't spool without a shot of gas is laggy!
to the op: dont' stuff around with the t28. hunt around for a genuine t3 (or whole t3 hotside kit) you'll save yourself lots of hassles with water and oil fittings, and dump pipe etc.
Ah and no wikipedia is wrong sorry to say, But the t28 is not on rb25's.. It is sort of a hybrid type thing, it has a t3 flange but the turbo cannot be classed as t3 or t28.. This is what i have been told by about 3 different people in adelaide at japanese dismantlers and buy a few more people on skyline forums..
GT35/40 at a minimum.
