Default blue slip monday. need to know some basics.

ok guys. recently i bought a new front kit for my vl as the other was broken. iim getting a blue slip on monday and theres a coupple little things i want to clear up before i go and fail.

    1. the left indicator is loose. it wont fal out but moves around noticably if you touch it.
    2. there is rust on the front screen. its not a hole or anything but its still there.

hopefully it will pass how it is but that would make my life a little easyer to know if n eed to fix anything up beforehand.

Is the indicator unattatched to the headlight? Just behind the lights there is a screw that holds the indicator to the main light. Its possible the indicator came loose and is just wobbling around. Dont lose it, they are hard enough to come across

the indicator itself works its just loose. the kit was smashed up aswell so i purchased another and put it on yesterday. now i need a bumper clip to put on to hold the bumper in place.

umm im not sure really about the rust its not big but its around 5cm long and you can see it through the rubber of w/screen aswell. on the left & right side of the car there about both equal.

yeah im pretty sure that that area is a really common place for rust on VL's, i have rust in the exact same spot, mine isnt bad but defnately try to stop it from getting worse. Fish oil or some rust converter is good, itll protect the metal.

ok so i went to the mechanic today. had a quck look over the car. stopped at the rust. he said it had to be repaired. no way it would pass so i suppose that answered my question.

it is pretty bad and to do it properly we will need to take out the screen. for now were just going to bog it up and next few months were taking both screens out. repearing the car and paint it all.

sand it down, bog it or firberglass it and paint over it lol, quicky dodgy job if u want it to pass my friend.

he might not catch u on the indicator but the cops might oneday.

    goodluck.

ok i got the car back on saturday. the mechanic done the light and the master cylinder.
however i need to change the rear muffler. (holes in it) the tyres are bald on the inside of them where on the outer and all through the middle there brand new. and also the rear suspension bushes. the cars all over the place.

then the rust and paint will go on it.

So you are in a panic to organise a safety inspection. How come your car was getting around with bald tyres, rust, brake issue (master cylinder), indicator light, suspension bushes etc. Didn't you realise that it was unroadworthy ? So much for annual vehicle inspections !!

id just bought the car and at the time all i knew that i needed to change was the master cylinder .... the rust is no problem we can fix it but when we changed the mc we told the mechanic to go over the car to see for any other problems before we went out to get a blue slip.

the tyres dont even seem bald in fact they have alot of tread however there is a wear issue. and i have to change all shocks/springs bushes because its just all over the place.

just keeping up to date on the site.
