    Default performance upgrade prices?

ok i know this is abit like many other threads but i still thought i should do it as none had exactly what i wanted!!

im curious to know what the prices are for the following

k&n air filter? everybody speaks of them
    or
pod filter? im not 100% sure if there the right names!
    also types of chips?
can chips be added to just stock vl's?
and what are they worth like an average?
ummm... also other performance like add on's that are reasonably cheap..
    say $200?

    ooh and wat tha hell??
my dad is having mid life crisis i think... he told me that when i get the car registered he will fill up my petrol tank 4 times and give me $200 if he can drive it for 2 hours before me! (it would be different if i had my lisence but i get it like 5 days after i get it registered so i will make him drive it before i get my lisence...)

is this mid life crisis? recon he could be doing me favour.... giving me free fuel? bit more money for it? and also checking out if theres problems?
knowing my stooge of a dad he will be going out flogging crap outta it... and thinking hes kool pumping "rolling stones" with my sub =( *cryz*

the VL has got all the power it needs and is already a handful for a new driver, especially the rear suspension which is not really capable of handling the normal power, be very careful about over accelerating when cornering
spend your money on premium quality tyres and maybe better quality shock absorbers at the rear

Well... I would stick with a standard panel filter instead of a pod. Pod filters suck hot air… and hot air isn’t good.

Go with a K&N panel filter and drill a hole in the bottom of the box and run some flexi pipe down to the front of the car (preferably where you have cool air intake) so that the air is even cooler and not being sucked in from the bay.

Also, yes… chips can be added to stock engines
As far as anything else goes for $200 I cant think of much. You say it’s a stock VL but is it turbo? If it is try throwing the waste gate to the dogs and buy yourself a blow off valve. Othersaround here know more then I do, so that’s it for me… hope this helped?

I have a question too! Can you guys recommend any particular brand of extractors and their rough price installed. Ill get them to install, I dont want to snap the bolts and be stuck. Also what does a chip package entail (any engine mods required) and what does one cost? Thanks

a popular brand of extractors are pacemakers and i think mine cost around $320 fitted.....as for a chip you can either get a change over system where you take you'rs in and they give you a computer back with a chip in it or you can install it you'rself......you can get a cam and chip package for around $600.....

camshaft. it changes the amount of time the valves are open to allow more air and fuel in and exhaust out.

I just rung up a few places and the best price for pacemaker headers to be installed is $500 and the next is $530. Seems to be a bit pricey, what do you guys reckon?
