Air con/heater fan intermittent

The aircon/heater fan operates intermittently on my wagon. I.ve changed the switch block over and it worked Ok for a short time, then started doing it again. What is the most likely, Fan switch on the control block or the resistors ?

does it work if you move the switches around a little bit like move the temp or direction switch up/down ever so slightly?

because it is an old slide type variable resistor with 2 rails and ball bearings/springs/contacts the rails become warn as well as the contacts and balls see if u can get a newer switch block or use an alternative

as above, And the fan speed switch are common problems, they are not the best of quaility.
clean the slide control contacts also.
