Cheap spray painter
hey guys. so if youve read up on my threads you will see im getting a blue slip soon. im going to get the rust taken out and completed in around 6 weeks. im just wondering if anyone knows a decent panelbeater in the area (sydney) who will do a good job without spending alot of $$$. in saying that it doesnt have to be a show car finish. im painting the car in the origional vl blue colour but i already have the paint so theres no need for that. also i will be doing all rust repairs as stated so its just rub back and paint. if theres anyone that does backyard jobs ?? how much do you charge ? and im keen to see work.
nothing ? im thinking of getting my mates couzin to do it as hes an apprentice. been so for 1 year. we will need to do all body work and he will paint it. but were also got a guy that my parents use e.g insurance jobs etc.... anyway its called vcdc. they do a good job but the money is also high. we will get a quote off them when the cars registered and see what he thinks.

So have you called around yet or not? One panel beater will be expensive for one thing and not for another. It's best if you call a few of them up and find out pricing, so don't go just by someone's suggestion because they might not be the cheapest ones. But just remember you get what you pay for.
Depends where abouts in sydney. I know a few places in bankstown who do mostly custom work.
And there's a panel beater in Dural i know that do some fantastic work! but i think they're a tad more expensive.

im in the fivedock area. i havent called up yet which is why im hoping some people may reccommend people they have used. we will be doing all the body work. e.g rust and dents.

some spray painters wont just paint a car, they like to do the prep work themselves....but you never know...you would have to ring and ask, and just say you have done the rust and fixed all the dents yourself and all you need is it to be painted......all the sanding has been done too
no such thing as a cheap paint job.cheap always = tacky.
in seying this if your just looking for a closed door respray in the stock colour then i couldnt see it being to much.get your cousins mate to do it if your not after show.
most $$$$ are in the prep work like sanding,rust work,dents etc.
yee its the same coulour. a tad darker but only outside re-spray not inside doors engine bay etc... also we will do all panel work dents rust etc... minimil sanding back required.
i want to know the not much bit int $$$$ haha.
well im not from sydney but a good closed door respray here in sa i could get for 1k to 1.5k with the painter doing fine touches in the prep work so hes happy to paint it

painting isn't hard mate it comes down to the prep work the better the prep the better the job if u prep it u should try paint it its really not that hard. give it a go ull be surprized u might pick it up like a natural
