    Default timing problem

    as you know i replaced new engine on my vl but bloddy mechanic didnt set the timing, he said he is going to set it later. the car is does not run normal, rpm goes up and down.to set that should i only slide the dizzy or do i have to take the dizzy out and replace it ..

    got a timing light, if not take it back to him. Is it idleing low? You should be able to loosen the nut and turn it counter-clockwise from memory, anyway the idle speed will come up. If you move it all the way as far as it will go and the car is stillin running like poo, timing belt may be out a tooth. I say may, dont go throwing it at him. Timing out a tooth is usually found due to misfiring and popping sound is coming back through air intake.
