Hey i was tinkering around under the hood and checking all the hoses hooked up to the radiator and when i pulled a short fat hose that links the top of the radiator to the engine and looked inside, the whole inside was caked with orange dirt or rust. The hose crackled when i squeezed it and flakes chipped off. should i replace any hoses that have this stuff on the inside? also the part that it slipped on to (on the engine) had corrosion on it so i pulled it off and chipped the rust off and it revealed a small hole about 1mm in diameter.
what is this part called (it has a gasket with it too), i think ill get a new one from supacheap or repco or something.
(first time attaching a pic so hope it works)

Its should be right, its just teh thermostat housing. clean it up, it will be ok
could replace the hose, but if it was me id wait til she cracks coz i cheapo
that is not the thermostat housing! thermostat housing is on the BOTTOM hose on a vl rb30.
if the hole is where the hose will cover it then don't worry about replacing it otherwise>
it is the top hose inlet tell super cheap where it is from and they should be able to hook you up.
also if the hose has flaking rust particles on the inside you will have that on ALL hoses of the cooling system so replacing one of them will be a waste of time, if you decide to replace it then replace every hose on the cooling system.
Nobody wants to play with me
ok thanks for your input guys.![]()
