hi guys, my car wasn't idling happily on lpg so my mechanic told me to get a new oxygen sensor. and long story short after much arguing, i bought it off him, and in the end it actually made no difference to engine running. even though the lpg's been tuned 'by 'ear' and is running fine, and petrol's running fine, how should i go about getting the signal from the oxygen sensor to the engine? there is no change when plugged in or not. should the car die if the sensor is not working/unplugged?
any help would be tops! thx
if its an old style lpg setup it wont even use the O2 sensor when on gas only on petrol
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
yeh but should petrol not run or run rough then?
i got 510km to my last 60L tank of lpg, city and long driving
just tryin to bump this thread.. would any1 know how to rewire the oxy sensor to the computer? im pretty sure the signal is getting grounded but not 100%.
thx fellas
u can grab a test light and put the alligator clips on the positive of ur battery and then put the probe on the earth wire of the o2 sensor and see if the wire is earther or u can chek the amount of resistance in the wire by grabbing a multimeter and set it on ohms and then one probe on the negative on ur battery adn the other on the grounded wire coming out of ur o2 sensor
define getting grounded ???
I dont have my wiring diagrams at home tonight be can do tmw night .
ah yeh cheers, i tried checking resistance, not 2 sure which color wire on the oxy adapter's which... thc 4 help so far
In the body loom the violet wire is 12v supply the white is active or signal wire back to the ecm the black is ground and should have zero resistance to the engine block or the battery earth connection ,
ah ok cheers, ill test it tomorrow and let ya know, im just assuming the active wire is shorting somehow to the shield. coz the manual says there should be continuity between terminal 24 on the 16 pin connector and the active wire, which there was. but also said there should be NO continuity between terminal 24 on the 16 pin connector and earth. there was the same resistance between both tests. enlighten? aha
cheers!
