Hey guys,
New plater from Victoria, and hopefully an apprentice motor mechanic soon and i want to wrap my head a little more firmly around some of the concepts before i drive into, so i thought where better place to start than a project car?
Ultimately this car will become (hopefully) a very fine looking VL and it will be mostly a cruising with a few mods on it (not to mod-central - only on red p's)
So, how cheap, and where, can you pick up VL's?
I was looking for one, ideally, that had done <220,000k's on the clock, mechanically sound (so i can drive it no problems), and the rest i dont care about. I plan to do re-do exterior and interior work completely anyway so that stuffs not important, as long as the engine and under tray is in relative good form.
Also, how long to the RB30's charge on for? I had a friend who's brother had one past 400,000 and he said it still ran like a dream.
Any help appreciated (Y)
Anywhere between $300 and $5,000 depending on what it is and itsa condition something realiable like an exec with under 220k manual or auto and nice paint i would pay more than $1,800 and if calais id say round $2,500 for ruff to $5,000 for mint na ones.
Cheers (Y)
rb30's live forever I reckon. Or pretty close to.
I've pulled apart rb30's over the 300,000km mark - and they've still had clearly visible crosshatching in the bores
Anyway, as an apprentice motor mechanic, you should get a dirty '30 on the engine stand and rip it apart, and rebuild it!
