Power Steering?

Hi there,

I was wondering what parts I would need to install power steering to an 87/88 VL? If someone could give me all the part names then I can shop around and see if I can get them, preferably in Sydney.

Power steering pump, power steering lines, a power steering rack, power steering belt. There the basic things, im sure ive forgotten something.

Best thing to do is go to a wreckers where you remove stuff yourself and grab the lot, that way you know how to reinstall it and where everything goes.

should already have it being a vl...
but as stated above sounds perfect..

yeah my old vl didnt have power steering and i just installed a power steering setup on a vl.

On this vl i have just done, i had to do the following;

Power steering rack, (rack had a different spline to collum so i had to change the bottom half of the collum)
Power steering pump,
Pulley on front of the harmonic ballancer,
Belt to run pump,
Power steering res, to put ya fluid in,
Power steering lines

I think thats everything off the top of my head...

I do have a complete power steering setup too that im not using..

maybe it was installed b4 he got it...

i have a SL and it doesnt have PS i think it would have been a optional extra back then for that model

i dont have that car no more, even if i did i would keep it like that, but i have a complete setup anyways so it doesnt matter lol

Must of been an optional extra on executives as well.
