    Default VL Electrical Fault

    So here's the problem.

*When brake pedal is applied, indicators stop working completely. I traced this to the moment the brake lights turn on. They reactivate once I take my foot off the brake.

*When parker lights are switched on, indicator speed increases. Sounds similar to the noise made when an indicator bulb is blown. Same as with brake lights, once turned off indicator goes to normal speed.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on. HELP.
It's as if society expects me to act like a cockmongler when I'm driving the Commodore. People always look at me weird when I go the speed limit, or indicate for more than 2.5 clicks or accelerate moderately off the lights... wtf

Sounds like someone has messed with the wiring.......
Do all the bulbs light up (even if when they're not supposed to?)

There is an electrical sensor on the brake pedal, perhaps check that this is functioning correctly

I wouldn't have a clue if someone has or hasn't messed with the wiring. I'm like the 57th owner of the car.

What worries me the most is it apparently fixed itself not long after I posted the original message.

Just waiting for it to show up again now.

I checked if the parker lights were working and at the time they seemed functional, although the indicators were not.

    possibly a bad earth somewhere...
go over all bolbs and check earth's in the sockets etc etc... give a spray with a penetrene...(Inox, Wd40, Rp7 type deal)
as well as faulty brake pedal switch..
possibly fried some wiring somewhere so these are being bridged now..
    goodluck man

fuse box could be gone, apparently it's a common problem.
have a look and see if there is any melting or blackness around fuses
