Default much carbon buildup in motor

does a stock standard RB30 motor get much of a buildup of carbon in the engine, so increasing the compression ratio and making higher octane unleaded fuels worthwile?

mine runs happily on the lowest octane unleaded

Default will earlier metal bumper bars fit a VL

commodores had metal bumpers until the VK, VL original plastic bumpers are now weak and brittle, breaking easily

non genuine plastic bumpers are available with the top trims but arent cheap

has anyone ever put metal bumpers on a VL? will they fit? they would be cheaper from a wrecking yard

carbon builds up inside the throttle body and can cause the engine to be sluggish and almost stall on LIGHT acceleration, removing the air inlet duct and opening the butterfly spray carby/injector cleaner and scrub inside with an old toothbrush rinse with carb/injector cleaner replace the duct start engine and it should be much better, alternatively you can remove the throttle body and thoroghly clean for best results.
metal bumpers may fit but would look totally GAY! and possibly defectable, the plastic ones cover approx 10inches below the grill on the front and about the same on the rear metal ones would only cover approx 4-5inches
