Default Brake pipe for '86 Berlina in Auckland

    Hi guys

Bit new to all of this so hope I'm in the right place...

I've got an '86 Berlina that has just failed it's warrant in a corroded brake line across the back axle by the dif.

I don't think it looks that bad but a fail is a fail!

I'm new to Auckland, any ideas where I might get one of these from? I tried Advanced Auto Parts but they don't do brake lines.

Pick a part wreckers yard has an '87 Berlina at the moment - would that fit assuming it's in better nick than the old one? The wrecker is a 3 litre auto and I'm a 2 litre (?) manual.

Or is it a main dealer part?

Like I say, I'm new to all of this lark so any help would be a winner.

    Cheers

    DJL

    Welcome to Just Commodores bloke.

vk ones fit as well. i have done this B4 on my old L the Rear Left one...
so go either model vk-vl heck even earlier as they are drum brakes on rear

as for compatability i would think its fine take out your old one and head down and check its length and bends etc etc
the main brake fluid feed goes to a "T" piece at the rear axle and then split to either side so take off the one your replacing.
does not matter on size of engine(3 Litre or 2 Litre) as it is the chassis size which are the same.
goodluck man easy job as well

go to a brake specialist who will either find you one or get one made for you
also check all other brake hoses for wear

Cheers people - I've given it a good rub down with some wet+dry sandpaper and some rust remover. It's a bit pitted now but not corroded so I'll spin her through the free retest and see what happens.

    Cross fingers!

Failing that I'll see what the wrecker one looks like coz it will be cheaper than a new one but if that's bummed I'll have to get a custom job made up.

    Thanks once again
