Power light in dash VL
Has anyone any ideas as to why the power / encon light in my instrument cluster is not working. I have replaced the bulb but no go, have check the wiring to the t bar all seems ok. The switch is working ok but just no light being displayed. Could it be a connection on the auto transmission or a computer glitch.
my light was working but I replaced all those globes and now its not, darned if I know why
my blinker indicator lights are still very dull in the daylight, is this normal?
possibly bad contacts in the back of the cluster...perhaps take it out, and clean the terminals, ........
shit dude i got the same prob with the power light! fortunate i saw this cos i was gonna rip apart the dash tmrw and change the bulb but might have to go deeper than that. Is it just me or do these old commers have shocking electrics? ive had probs with elec windows/mirroros/ ariel, cruise control and backlighting. Part of the charm i guess....
are you sure its not your transmission ,playing up ,thats what happend to mine light out and would not change down
It is most likely the connection to the bulb from to socket you are plugging it in to. I had to add some more solder to the contact on the socket to improve it. But as always, if the PWR button is canceling OD and you are sure it is working, just engage it and use a volt meter to test the current is being sent down the wiring loom to the dash. This process will also tell you if contact is not sufficient and in need of soldering
