    Default VL overheating problem

    hi ppl i have a vl with a standard rb30 no turbo it seems to run at half temp then anything above 80 km/h she gets upto bout 3/4 temp i have checked the thermostat and bled the cooling system but it still does it please help

    hey m8 my old one did that too a bit. i rekon if the engine isnt physically boiling hot, then the temp gauge is just a little off. but im not sure in your circumstance.

    how did u check the thermostat as in like boil a pot of water and check if it is opening or..
    replace it??
    flush the radiator properly and get it checked for blockages back flow it... etc etc
    drain the block and replace coolant and bleed system properly for air bubbles.
    use coolant like teckalloy 100 or 90 and also check your gauge sender unit and gauge itself..

    get a new temp gauge sender, not expensibe from holden dealers,
    you can put a cooking type of thermometer into the top of radiator cap to give an accurate water temp reading

    blow out radiator core with comp air
