Default VL drums, to VN discs ?

Hey guys, ive done some searching but cant find what im looking for,

For my wagon, i want to upgrade, the back drums, to disc,

What will fit onto it ?

Able to throw a VN diff in, and just have it all bolt up ?

Or will i need a hub adaptors ?

Just the easiest way to get rear discs.

Taking anything off a VLT is a no go, theres nothing anywhere in the wreckers, and i dont want to spend alot of cash doing it.

I think the VN brakes and axles are the same as VL but not sure rear discs are added quite often, you need a new master cllinder, etc

I would imagine the VN brakes would just bolt up to your existing diff, I can't see Holden making them any other way

I could be wrong, but I suspect the whole VN rear axle assembly was carried over from the VL - that's one reason why the VN always looked too wide for its suspension. If I'm correct, the whole rear axle assembly would swap into the VL from a VN with minor mods, if any.

the vn diff is 1 or 2 inches wider then the vl diff.. which means the axles are also longer... vn axles are also 28spline and vl n/a axles are 25 spline(vl turbo/v8 are 28spline).. u can fit the vn diff into the vl but u wont be able to run anything other then stocko rims on it, and thats pushing it

u can use the vn brakes for the conversion but u will have to change the wheel bearing on the vl axles to a "disc" rear bearing and also locate a vl disc brake hand brake cable as the vn one is different..

hope this gives u an idea mate

What Lazza said sounds good ^ disk bearings and VL disk hand brake cable and the rest can be stuff from a VN

rotors, pads, lines n backin plates can be used from a vn/vp.. but u will need to change the axle bearing to vl disc(otherwise it will leak gear oil everywhere past the bearing) and find a vl disc hand brake cable
