[Help needed urgently!] Locked my keys in my VL!

Hey guys, as tittle says, i stupidly locked my keys into my VL and i have tried everything (coat hanger) etc. I also searched google and around the forums but had no success. I do not have money to spare to give away to a lock smith. Please help me. Thank you

Need the car to drive now, The window is dark tinted so it's gonna be costly, i want an alternative to smashing the window, apparently the quarter window is the most expensive aswell :P

Take a deep breath and scream at it a few times to open whilst chucking a few choice swear words in and with a bit of luck it might get a fright and unlock itself, saving you cash.

If all else fails bend a wire coathanger in the right shape and manipulate it so it has a small hook type thing on the end and push the lock towards the front of the car since its a side lock

haha tried it already today, i actually sawed my own wedge, but doesn't work properly on a VL door. Thanks anyway, any more ideas people!?!??!

try to fit something smaller than a brick inbetween the door

its a vl, all doors and ignition barrels are worn out any key or flat head screw driverer should be able to open the door.

Hey mate, thanks for the reply, already tried heaps of different keys and a flat head screw driver and nothing opens it, i dont know if its a factory vl lock as i bought the car second hand.

bend the top of the door open enough to pull the rubber seal off and you should have more than enough room to fit wire down there to pull the lock towards you to open it. Can always glue the seal back on with Kiwi grip for $5 or other stuff

Coat hanger doesn't work in a VL, the lock is way to hard to get to....

If you dont want to smash the window try popping the window out by cutting the seal or something

usually, due to wear in locks, any VL key will open and start any VL, so borrow the key from any VL driver

I hide a key under the car for when I lock myseklf out

pull the rubber weather strip off the door get a torch and look down in the door, and you will work out the rest.

Smaller the window, the more costly it is to replace.


For future reference, use a metal ruler. Takes less than 30seconds from walking up to the car, to getting the door open on a VL when you use a metal ruler.
