its probably water in the electrics, remove dizzy head, theres supposed to be a gasket under it thats usually missing and see if its wet, also spray WD40 on electrics

+1 to what harry said. a good blast of WD40 or the equivalent in the guts of the dizzy and around all leads and connectors, it wouldnt hurt to disconnect the dizzy + crank angle sensor + ignition module plugs to give them a good soaking

If water got onto the crank angle sensor would this cause the cutting out after 15 - 20 mins i have washed hundreds of engine in cars and never had this before.

yes! also pull the rubber boot back on the cas plug on the top of the dissy and give it a good spray.
I have had this problem with my vl's, now when washing the engine I spray the dissy before I cover it with a bag then wash the engine then spray it again.

Crank angle sensor is in the dizzy man
you would have got water in there....
this has been covered many times as well so have a search there are other remedies.
wait untill it dries out or pull apart your CAS and dry it...
go over your electrics with INOX rather than wd40 as INOX is waterproof and spray them all as well as in the back of the plugs(pull back rubber boot).
once it had dried out you will be sweet.
Check fuses that none have blown due to a short.
    Goodluck

well sounds like AFM is playing up if u cant rev it and it just dies...
could be a number of things and a coincidence not from the wash itself..
could be a failing fuel pump well one of them intank pump (inertia) or highflow pump,

JATSVL Fuses as in water got in somewhere and shorted out a circuit and has blown a fuse as in for like fuel pumps or Ignition ETC ETC got me bloke :P

just a thought, check the air piping is all good and tight, often leads to the afm playing up. probably not the problem, but good to check it and afm wiring.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

id be stripping the dizy down and cleaning it all out spraying it with wd40.
also all electrical contections could have water/moisture in them same deal spray them out.

rb30's are pretty simple, just keep cleaning shit untill you get a result, either that or go to a wrecking yard and "resource" various sensors and start trying them

check the air intake/ air filter to see if you got any water in there... my mate drove through a puddle at high speed and had similar problems coz the water got into the air intake.

Well after all that finally got it going just kept at it used 2 tins CRC sprayed every thing 3 – 4 times over pulled every plug and connection apart 10 times over sprayed and kleened them all now it runs good took it for a big drive every things good.

Cost 1 starter 1 CAS a lot verbal morality you know how it goes

Initially this engine and bay wash started as a radiator change

Anyway thanks for all the input guys it all helped
