gday, my dad was fiddling with my vl the other day and now its revving off of its head, i cant figure out what the problem is, its sitting at about 12-1500 rpm any help would be great cheers.
at idle???
this could be that the throttle cable has been tightened or the screw under the throttlebody butterfly control has be tightened hence holding the throttle plate open.
or the idle screw on back of plenum has be adjusted

ok il have a look at that tomorow, im new to cars but i think its called the butterfly? well when you push it down it starts revving at about 600rpm or so
butterfly ------AKA----- Throttle Plate
by your example sounds like the throttle cable is too tight mate you talking about this??

yeah thats what im talkin about, but the accelerator cable is fairly loose like yours, and i just took her for a run and now the revs are sometimes high and somtimes low? cheers for all the help by the way
Also Make sure there's no leaks between the AFM (air flow meter) and the throttle body. (make sure all the hose clamps are tight).
must be the idle screw at the back of the plenum then
or somebody has adjusted the other idle screw under the throttle body stop to hold open the throttle plate slightly(should not have touched this)
it was the idle screw on the back of the plenum its all fixed now thanks for all the help
not a worry man, good to see everything is all well. :P
