roof bars on a VL

has anyone put roof bars or a roofrack on a VL that grips the side rain gutters?

my VL wagon seems to have normal side rain gutters, but with a plastic chromed appearance strip on the outside, So I wonder if these ares trong enough for a loaded roof rack

i have put roof racks on my vl on the trim before and had no problems putting 2 kayaks, ores, and life jackets on them and driving along a highway. you might want to protect the trim with material etc to prevent scratches and not over tighten bolts on roof racks to bend the trim also

Just be carefull of the roof racks you use because some damage the gutter trim and there are some that dont so take your time fitting them and checkem out first
