Hey guys after writing of my ute ive ended up with a vl to drive till i lose my licence...
The other day i wacked her in reverse and it shuddered and made banging noises as if something was hitting on something. It doesnt do it going forward.
My question is do vls have a split driveshaft and a centre bearing on the driveshaft(i would look but it just sprang to my mind but im at a mates house and the cars at home).
If so does anyone have an approximate price on how much it would cost to fix?? if that is the problem.
Yes they have a split tailshaft with centre bearing and CV joint. I had mine done last week for a V6 conversion, new yoke, new unis, new centre bearing and fit VL rear shaft to front VN shaft. All up cost $377 including balancing. CV joint would have been about $150 if needed.
