hi . i am putting a VQ EFI 304 in my VL Calais. it was factory 5lt so it needs a fuel return line. what is the best way to go about this. should i change tanks and lines . or surge tank and return line. please help with this as i dont know which way to go. is there a better way?
I have just finished a V6 conversion in a VC and decided it was easier to use a tank out of a VL 6 with the swirl tank built in and with the internal lift pump. I then fitted an external Pierburg EFI pump and filter. All you will need then is a return line, I used rubber EFI hose and ran it along with the other fuel and emission lines.
my mate is nearing the end of this conversion to his vc (had a 253 in it) he used the tank out of the vn and ran what lines he needed.
you could go to the wreckers and get the fuel return line and tank from a 6cyl. then bend the tabs on the chassis out and fit the return line.
This is good site to watch.I found it informative as I have been researching a lot lately on such matters such as you talk about.
