Speedometer Not Working

Not 100% if it is known as the speedometer but it is the gauge that tells you how far you have travelled.

I filled up with fuel this smorning and pressed the button to reset the counter so I know how much I am getting to a tank of fuel and when I was driving I noticed that it wasnt ticking over. Not even the overall milage of the car is working anymore. I tried pressing it in and turning and turning outside and pushin it fast and slow but nothing works to get it back to counting again. I was working before I pressed the button in.

Any ideas how I can rectify the problem ?

its actually called the odometer for the total k's & trip meter for the one you can reset, they usually fail together.

common problem, buy a new dash from the wreckers for $40.

You can test it before you install it by shoving something in back where speedo cable goes and hooking up cordless drill. Saves installing it then removing to take it back.

mine stopped working at 180,000 ks, bout 2 months ago, but now it reads 450,000 ks all up i have done bout 200-300 ks. but apprantly its a common VL prob

mines got 890000+ lol stoped about 3 yrs ago its in good nick for 890000+ origanal moter aND ALL LOL LOL

the speedo i bought had 329000km on it, i rolled it back to 167000, what the old one was on.
