Hi guys I have a 304 from a VL (Eng # starting VJ) it is/was in my nissan patrol but is currently out waiting for a freshen up. It has P/S on passenger side and alternator on the drivers side but I would like to reverse this using the old style mounts. I would like to know if I need a HQ model p/s pump and bracket or if the current pump will fit a HQ bracket?(drivers side mount). I have seen HQ style p/s brackets on ebay but they are flat and use spacers and my current one has a big step in the bracket and no spacers, but the step looks alot larger then the spacers. If any of you other guys have done this or know about the interchangeability of these parts any help would be appreciated. My power steering box is on drivers side chassis rail and battery's are on passenger side so if I can swap the p/s pump and alternator it will make things look alot tidier and easier to run a cooler for p/s fluid. Part 2 of this saga is if anybody knows which if any 308/304 has a passenger side aircon with a sanden 508 style compressor? (this would be used to make an "endless air" air compressor). Once again any info is much appreciated.
