    Default Genuine VL Calais Turbo 5 speed how much??

    ive been offered a turbo calais for 4g or swap for my bt1 plus cash.. its full white with a walky kit apart from boot and bonnet scoop. has factory sunroof, light blue interior, motor is 30,000 k's old, bov,front mount, turbo timer etc. needs a computer as the stock computer is still in it. apparently it fuels up to much and blows a little bit of smoke. still runs fine and goes hard.. and back windows dont work.. the guy has had the car for ten years and hardly drives it any more. so reckon its worth the 4g? or even swapping my vs bt1 for it?

    4000 seems alright as long as it aint a n/a converted pos.

    check engine number and if the tags sey lw5.

    what colour smoke is it blowing?

    I wouldnt think it would be worth swapping unless he gave you cash, then again i have no idea what your car is like but thats just IMO

    ill check the engine number today. blows black smoke he said mainly because of the stock computer. he also says it needs an oil catch can cause theres oil spraying out of the bov..

    somethings wrong if its dumping oil out the bov.i have a etm catch can you can have for $60 with filter

    either the oil is from turbo meaning front seal is leaking(Compressor) or this is oil (blow-by Gasses) entering the Intake and making its way to BOV depending where it is i guess.....
    stock comp?? meaning a turbo stock or a N/A ECU coz its a convert possibly...
    Rich can be other things as well.
    If its Blue smoke its Oil burning meaning turbo seals
    or Black/sooty is Rich
    have a look if it has rust in usual spots etc
    as well

    Hey mate, in you saying that the oil is coming out of the BOV i would stay right away from it unless you are willing to pull the motor out and rebuild it, sounds like it has had a massive flogging on high boost with stock ecu and has done some serious blow by.

    thats my opinion but at the end of the day its your choice.

    do a compression test to see what its like. just coz its got oil coming out the blow off valve doesnt mean its farked. is quite common on cars with no catch can seems to be on a bit bigger set ups though, havnt heard of to many vls that are running stock boost and pretty standard setups with the problem though. there could just be a problem with how he has the crank case vent set up.

    yeah imho i wouldnt be touching it could be a whole lotta dollars or could be a simple fix, you never know with a vl turbo.


    as most say they sit in the shed most of the time getting fixed.....well mine dont anyways doesnt cop that mush to be breaking down LOL

    the smoke is black. he said it needs a computer because its just factory and thats why its getting to much fuel. when u pull up at lights or your not into it it gets to much fuel. still does drive fine and runs fine cold.. there is oil all over the motor but it is clean oil, there isnt any leaks on the acctual motor.the bov is all oily and does seem to be where oil is spraying from. he assures me its just the catch can. but i really have no clue.. he said the bottom end is bullet proof has receipts for all the work.. would the car still be worth 4g?

    has gay back lights and center bit cause some one hit the ass end. has been resprayed and doesnt have any rust reaperaing, but really needs another coat of paint.. heaps of stone chips.

    didnt c the bloke today but will tomorrow and ill check the engine number and take a pick of the motor...

    yeah your saying stock ECU there was 4 of em for Turbo and N/a Models and Gear box type
    is it a stock Vl turbo or a conversion to turbo, while not changing the ECU
    3 represents 3.0 litre

    3EM or 50: N/a Manual Ecu
    3EA or 51: N/a Auto Ecu
    3TM or 52: Turbo Manual Ecu
    3TA or 53: Turbo Auto Ecu

    its facory turbo 5 sp. he says it needs to be upgraded to a new aftermarket one then the smoke will stop...

    i like it mate.

    well if the motor is a dunger i have an a8 engine and head you can buy $900


    also have two pairs of calais tail lights
    calais garnish
    calais rear eye brow moulds
    and full calais front to lol if you need spares

    might buy it as a project im thinking. im keen on a set of back lights are u in nsw? is the garnish the center bit ? or the strip along the boot?
