G'day, the Vl is still missfiring intermittantly under loa? Have replaced coil, fuel pump, fuel filter, checked dizzy cap and rotor, checked codes.... all good. It runs fine almost all the time.... does this, then is fine again? Any help appreciated. Cheers
Does your speedo needle flicker at all when it misfires? A VL that i once owned started surging and running real bad when accelerating and i noticed the speedo needle jumping up and down at the same time. It only happened at certain speeds and not all the time. I replaced the speedo cable and it was fixed.
It could also be your air flow meter or wiring to it.
are the sparkplugs OK and correctly gapped?
try another CAS and Air flow Meter...
underload usually is Plugs or leads Plugs gapped to (1.1).. could be a few things else though
Vacuum leaks/Air leaks in Intake piping,Fuel Reg, Fuel filter, Corroded wiring somewhere causing intermittent problems, go over whole bay...
Let us know Goodluck
Nothing too drastic Rb30's are simple fixes :P
check your leads
Yeah i agree, Replace leads with new ones if that dont work, try another air flow meter. if not replace CAS with new one and plug. Try replacing 02 sensor. Check all wiring plugs for corosion, unplug and plug back in.
What are your terminals like on the battery??
Whats all your earths wires like? this can cause things aswell!!!
Cheers Nackerz
leads and sparkplugs?
Thanks for all ur info guys, have replaced leads, plugs, coil, fuel pump, fuel filter, dizzy, cap. And the ecu is not throwing any codes at me either? Will post woteva it ends up being. Cheers![]()
Ok, here's the deal so far.....checked codes and replaced ecu, changed leads, plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, checked dizzy and cap, replaced power transistor, replaced air flow meter, replaced coil, checked all wiring plugs and battery terminals for corrosion and looseness, For the first time the car actuall died today, and wouldn't start for a couple minutes? Haven't changed the cas, but thought it wouldve died completely and/or thrown a code? The car drives again now, just back to the orig symptoms and a bit more frequent.? Any new thoughts? Cheers.
I had an aftermarket replacement ignition module that missfired at 3000rpm, drove fine under that, took it back and exchanged it for another and all good.
I would also check fuel pressure as per OEM, meaning both running and shut off tests.
99% gauranteed to be the c.a.s i reckon
