Default XF Throttle body for VL

Can anyone tell me what the story is about this so called XF conversion for a VL
commodore is? Sounds a bit stupid to me. Just curious is all.

Well i'm kinda confused by your post. It's not really a mod you'd do to n/a's unless your keen on wasting a little bit of time. But basically the xf throttle body is bigger. So you let more air in when you plant your foot.

What more do you want to know?

I'd like to know if it's a matter of just ripping one out and putting one in? Are the actual bodies the same size or is it bigger cuz the hole is bigger?

Yeah TPS has to be changed over. I've never really looked into it.. I'll find a thread on calaisturbo later if I remember. But theres a pretty detailed thread there I believe.

I think it may have even been covered here? Maybe not in the same depth though.

    what exactly is the TPS??
this cant do anything bad to the engine if it is currently N/A??

actully thats a stupid question but oh well....

    xf single throttlebody or twin??

bt1 twin throttle body polished and ported would be much better, yeah?

and as for twin throttle bodies, good luck and post all pictures here please...

Nar its only a single, you cant stick 2 sets of extractors on a motor to take away the exhaust fumes so you are only allowed one inlet for the air to come in.

hmm k.... i dont understand your reason for no twin to be honest bucket?

    i have seen them around!

are you trying to say there would be no increase?
or that they dont make them?
or, that it wouldnt help anymore then a single ported etc...

It's all about how much air you can get running through the engine.

IMO the only thing increasing the throttle body size whether by making it bigger or splitting into two seperate t/b's. Is only going to increase your throttle response, because its allowing more air to enter the engine faster.

Combine it with a better flowing head, inlet etc and it'd make more of a difference.

Dual would help more because when you think about it 2x 48mm is better then 1x 78mm.. Thats guessing at sizes. But you get my drift?

I seen a Twin XF TB setup for VL commo using VL plenum.

Ive got a VL plenum with XF TB on it sorta smoothed plunum, the TBs painted dark ice blue. gona be puting it on ebay soon.

they makes a air intake nosie difference.
