hey i have a vl rb30 on gas, just wondering as i have never serviced a duel fuel car before, apart from the normal petrol engine stuff is there anything i need to do with the lpg system?
thanks
Hey. I cant help you with the service, but im looking to buy and convert a VL to duel fuel. i wasnt sure if it was easily possible. Is there any problems? Temperature? So far fuel prices are the only thing stopping me from getting one! its very frustrating!
hey... mine has never had heat problems but it doesnt have the standard radiator... its got a more heavy duty one but im really not sure what it is... gas does run hotter and as the vl's already have problems cracking heads i would consider an upgrade for the radiator before doing the gas... other than that its really good... i have driven a couple of different vl's and while mine doesnt have the outright throttle response of the petrol only models it copes fine with gas... i can usually get about 400ks around the suburbs and maybe 500ks on a long trip with an auto, which i hope to change to a manual soon which should also improve economy... at the current fuel prices i pay about 7c a km while my friend who has a petrol vl gets similar but slightly better economy pays something like 15c+ a km... you do the math... also have had this conversion for nearly 10 years never a problem in its life... which for a vl is pretty good![]()
