5l into vl
ive seen some of the pics of walky replicas with vr-vt 5l engines. Do they fit straight in or do you have to modify the struts/chassis rails? I just think it looks fantastic with a big v8 in the vl.
yer it will fit, you just need new everything for it man, pull out the wallet... for the dollars id go VLT for simplicity unless of course you are a patient person, then its worth the wait.

how do you mean new everything. smaller aftermarket parts?
you mean genuine 5ltr replaced with injected?
I was tinking 6cyl, if 5 ltr, its a gearbox swap me thinks. Wire in computer.

it isnt that bad. ive got a V8 in mine, though its a carby engine and they certainly dont give you the bang for the buck they use, so been considering the same thing in great depth.
if you can get hold of a wrecked VN SS (even non wrecked, there is one here for $3000) for around $2000, even less depending on k's and damage, swap over everything you need. i think there is only one bracket to buy, a speedo transmitter, and have the tailshaft modifed. if you can do the work yourself its pretty easy and cheap.
youll have it in with all the bits for under 3k, sell your rb and box for $1000, sell off whatever is good on the donor car and youll come close to seeing your money again plus have a shit-hot donk in your VL!
use wrecked vt
im looling at getting the running gear out of a wrecked vt ss. 5l engine man gearbox. lsd. brakes etc. will the engine and gearbox from a vt fit into a vl? On a side track has anyone ever put a gen 3 into a vl?
hello people, im thinking about buying a vl rb25 commodore automatic with 80,000kms on the clock, do you guys know if it would be worth it? with the rb25 in it will it go any harder than the nissan 3l engines in the vls? truth people, please pm me with their response as i am not always able to come on here.. thanks fellas, (by the way check out my vk calais)
that was a good Q thats wot i am whanting to doing vt engine into a vl but still whating on tax back some1 said u could do it for 3k thats cool i thught it was going to cost me 6-7 k if not more

dont go stealing my ideas anyone, but im looking at picking up a written off late model v8 man eg. ss,clubby at an insurance auction. as long as the drivetrain and all is still in one piece it should give me all the stuff i need for next to nothing.
