Own an 86 VL commodore, executive. Done around 187000km. The oil pressure gauge seems to jump around quite a bit at times rather than staying at a constant. I have been told by some people that its a design fault in this particular model, anyone shed some light on the subject?
could very well be. mines like a freaking bouncy thing. design fault?? could be
Half a carton and still going!!! Now thats Economy
I didn't think execs had oil pressure guages?¿
mine does it too. only when the pressures up it jumps around..if it sits on the red at idle ur in trouble....
my gauge jumps everywhere too, the sender is near the oilfilter but I havennt got around to looking at it yet
I think your sender is stuffed
mine sits constant in idle and cruising, touch the throttle/ Boot it and it jumps up
just a natural oil pressure...
meh my is always in red!! lol...... ooh gawd... problems problems problems...
i will make sure it aint in red whilst idling!
but i think it is as thats the only time i ever look at it =(
I CANT WALK ON WATER BUT I CAN STUMBLE ON ALCOHOL
where is the sender. photo??
Half a carton and still going!!! Now thats Economy
Bugger mine does it too, id say its factory fault tho.. it jumps around like a constipated kangaroo when idling but as soon as she gets some revvs it goes right up and stays there, theyre pretty cheap guages so its gotta be expected.. looks nice at nite tho i think
they should sit constant around 40 psi and increase 5 - 10 psi when engine is warm psi should also increase with increased revs
