Hey guys,
just woundering about all yuor vl boots. I have recently overhauled my boot of my vl with 2x1000w amps and 4x800w 12" subs all kenwood (they rock) and just woundering what about the spare tyre does anyone even keep them anymore? if so where put it cause i cant keep it up again the left wall anymore. Do you just rely on good tread and tyre conditions?
Thanks Simon
Certainly not. Good tread and condition of the rubber doesnt stop leaks and blowouts from road debris etc.
have 2 x 12inch subs and amps and still have the spare in its place. getting it out is a bitch of a job but needless to say if i have a blowout its there with me.
would you have any pics to send me then any help would be good cause i drive over 8000km a year thanks heaps
what are you chasing pics of?
i won't have a spare in my next car, ill be counting on a mobile phone and friends.. haha
pushed for space - try a new commodore spare rim - small light and might even fit a VL
i wish it were that easy for me bex, being a uni student i tend to do my driving while friends are at work..... and sometimes end up far enough from home that i know they would be pissed to have to come save my sorry ass!!!
ill keep my spare thanks!!!
Sickblue ill put up some pics later today of the bits and pieces... good excuse to get down to the shed and clean the beast.
hey thanks alot man look foward to seeing them, and yeah i guess she does need a clean all over been meaning to do it for ages. but i thought what is the point when your just doing it up and its onlt going to get dirty when you start on another thing in the car.
yeah mate i meant give mine a clean. i ended up busy today so i didnt get any pics. (the homebrew was at maximum bottling brew time- gonna be a good batch this one, looked superb!!)
i do promise pics as soon as i get there, its basically a 3 piece setup, a wooden cover over the wheel, same thing on the other side to look good adn it hides the amp, then the 2x12s in the middle attached to another peice (and boxed) all covered with fake fur.
works a treat, though when time comes to change the tyres its a bit og heavy lifting getting the subs far enough out (but not all the way) to wiggle the spare out...
