Default Fuel hose near pump 3litre

The fuel hose steps up from about 5/16 up to about 3/8 (6/16) or maybe a bit more near the fuel pump - the little doggy leg part.

I looked at it and it looks criss-cross pattern.

Are these from holden and all ready step up. If so how much??

I tried heating and expanding a 5/16 EFI hose but the result was that the gas stove in the kitchen stank the hose out. This sounds dodgy but a builder mate of mine got the shats a few years ago when trying to get half inch copper fuel line to step down to a holley fuel pump but this was non-EFI hose and the regulator was set at 6psi with holley carb - it didn't work for the RB30 - NA EFI system.

    Any help appreciated.

Is there any trick in getting the fuel filler rubber gromet back in when refitting the tank?? I didn't do a good job last time as the gromet was a little hard and didn't flex back in??

there are 2 specially shaped pieces, the lower one is still available from a holden dealer for a few dollars but the upper one isnt and I was advised to replace it with a long section of straight hose, this had been done on my VL but the hose kinked shut on the freeway, stopping the car, after it cooled it ran OK, I expect heat coming back from the engine had softened the hose, allowing it to kink shut, I supported the hose and no problems since

in general if an engine stops and later starts, suspect the rubber sections of the fuel hose are kinking shut

anyone know of a non genuine supplier of the upper shaped hose?
as mentioned on a previous post, all rubber fuel hose sections must now be suspect after 20 or so years
