body kits..whats the go?

i got a 1987 vl and im looking to put a body kit on it..the walky kit is a bit big for a chick like me...got any decent combinations that look neat but will stand out..even photos? i need to be pointed in the right direction as im not sure what i want yet...

Is good, but from the rear it looks gay. The drop tank.. On 9 outta 10 cars, looks gay. The rear looks the same,gay.. the center piece between the lights, needs to be black, or match the tail-lights at least.

And the rear bumper.. It's weird...

To each their own I guess lol, like some people don't like the director kit and others adore them.. IMO it's certainly different, which is refreshing after a while (and if you've given up the anti rice crusades and just accept them like I have you'd see where I'm coming from )

How about some of the original kits (especially the director) but minus the spoiler if you could, the rear bumper/colour coded centre garnish/colour coded tail lights look pretty cool: Post Pictures of your VL here.

Thanks for not wanting a walky kit by the way, a personal annoyance when a VLT or anything but a HSV is done up like a walky and they're in all colours of the rainbow sheesh (again my opinion)

Now if you want to be really different, grab one of those granny visors for the back window.. and colour code it LOL

thanks guys...the walky is too common..atleast where i live there are two vl's with that kit...the director is a chunky kit...i looked at the gts kit..its a bit too rounded and the calais is too simple...the aero and group a is all that is left yeah?

you can always mix and match according to tou're taste i.e- group A bar, calais LE side skirts, aero rear bar. well I'm gonna mix and match mine but haven't decided what I like yet.

where do i go in sydney for a kit...most places that i called have told me they dont do the vl..only new kits...i think group a or aero front but i dunno bout the side or rear yet...i havent had a good enough look...

another thing how much will it cost me to get the kit sprayed...that is if i buy it from qld and get it shipped to sydney..approx how much am i looking to get it sprayed and n fitted here

iv got my eyes set on a Director kit...it will go on a '88 VL executive wont it? i live on the north coast of NSW, does anyone know where i could get a director kit from? as far up as brisbane and down to even sydney (dont really want to travel that far if it isnt totally necesary).. cheers

I don't think i've ever seen one for sale (director kit) its just too outrageous I suppose, I like it tho but its not for me, I remeber this being discussed over at calais turbo forum some time ago.

I don't know how ppl can say that the walky is too common, i seen one the other day and i don't think it's from around here, and it was also a wagon. Director kit, one in town, group A like 15. And there ain't even 100 VL's in town, well there prob is but that includes 30+ aged driver's with standards. I'm not saying that i don't like group a but walkys just don't seem that common over a's. Also looks like a mean car, replica or not

where im from..that is sydney there is a guy just round the corner from me with a replica walky kit..and my mechanic has an original walky...

would love to buy thta car mint condition... dont think it has been driven in a while...totally hot...but i want something different...but then again i saw a vp commodore with a vx front spoiler literally screwed into the car...like i mean literally some guy had got out some big ass screws and just drilled em straight into the car..some people do some wierd shit..

have a look at Fibresports in Taren Point in Sydney, www.fibresports.com.au. I got most of my kit there. Don't go to SSV (Sydney Special Vehicles) as they charge twice as much. I mixed and matched mine and she looks alright.

You know, when I was planning the VL Stealth, aka e-VL I had actually lined up a R34 Front bar. Found a joint in Melb that would cut the centre section out so it wasn't so wide. They sent me some photoshop pics of what it would look like and damn it was smooth. Instant pearl necklace if you know what I mean.

Now, I'm in the states and I'm planning on importing a VZ Ute or wagon and buying thewrecked 05 GTO at the end of my street... 6.0L V8 VZ Wagon anyone?

Yep! My lil bro bought the GTS kit for his VL from there... & he had it sent to Ceduna!! didnt cost him any extra, normally they have to pay heaps extra on frieght etc... & kit seems to be good quailty. I have pics if ya interested? I can post em up... Spoilerfactory were going to put his car up on their webpage for the GTS kit....
