    Question Converting n/a to turbo?

    hey guys,
I got my self a vl 5peed and plan on converting it to turbo.
Ive got a setup coming including t04 turbo, exhaust manifold, piping, intercooler, turbo injectors, and computer.
I just want to if theres anything else i need mechanicaly or electrical for it to run properly when i put it all together and not die on me.

if you guys have any advice on what else i need to get or do it'll be muchly appreciated...cheers

    Hey mate,

Have you got the banjo bolts and oil and water lines to go with it? You will need these.
    Dump pipe?

What ecu is it? Im guessing its a vlt ecu to go with the vlt injectors. One way to find out is pull the panel off the ecu and if there is a second board in there that means its a vlt ecu as this is the knock sensor board.

Might pay to run a knock sensor.

How much boost do you wanna run??

Turbo internal or External Gated?? if external u will need one to suit your turbo/ boost application..
    Additional Vacuum piping if external.
Another thing would be patience and be smart about it.. not boosting car when wastegate is not setup properly, Watch timing and as nackerz said run a knock sensor..
I havnt with mine, but my AFM is After Turbo B4 cooler so mine runs rich not leaning out too much till i move it and get my AFR's Tested.
if u need help with the convert feel free to ask
u will love it and not go back to N/A
Upgrade your brakes to turbo spec as in front rotors and calipers from a turbo vl or VN/VR etc (larger rotors and finned calipers)
As well as rears from drum to disk if not already. With more power means better stopping power.

Yeah these are good things as nath has said, you could consider doing a vt brake upgrade
