Self explanatory, really. We all know VL's are old cars, and with normal use, the barrels and locks will wear out, not to mention if they've been tampered with in an attempted theft before.
So, it was no real surprise that I could get my barrel to crank/fire the engine with a few seconds of jiggling and with NO KEY INSERTED. I know of many VL's where you can take the key out with the engine running, and it's probably those ones that will also fire without a key.
Just a general warning, we all know how easy it is to pop the locks on a VL, and if your barrel is farked, without an immobilizer or killswitch(es) would be thieves could take your pride and joy in 30 seconds flat.
they can take it in 30 seconds flat even if your barrel is perfect if they want it..
i bet they wouldent care if the barrle is worn as they would probaly have smashed a bar down it in less then 30 secs any way
wasnt having a go at you, but thieves dont care how much damage they do to get a car so good or bad lock dosent matter unless it annoys the owner..
He was simply trying to help. Yes most owners of vl's know they are an easy car to steal. But for those who didnt this guy let them know![]()
yeah and also just let the thieves know who read this forum, TOP WORK MATE!!!
maby i should let the thieves know if they try steal my car there might be a double barrle security system installed
hahaha, well yeah maybe you should lol.....No-one would be came to come out where I live just to steal a shitty vl haha
yeah the inlaws old vl was able to be started with out the key, pretty scary actually how easy the old girls are to steal...
yeah true that mate, but what can ya do.
If they want it that bad they will take it no matter what.
with my VL key Ive unlocked and started 2 other VLs and yes they are still being stoled due to their cult car status
