    Default Autometer with Shiftlight

Gday Fellas, was just having a quick look on the forums about installing an Autometer/shiftlight into my car. Is the mounting/wiring a painful job or is it all a straight forward process?
If anybody has pics of one mounted either on the left of the dash hood or the right, could i please see a few. s i dont know what side to install it on as well.
    Cheers blokes

    who cares about the airvent?

i recon tachos are too big to have on the left.. it sticks out and looks out of place.. but i guess thats just my opinion..

i think putting it on the right will block the quality of sound coming out of the speaker. if you use them, i have pioneers in the dash so i'm putting my tacho on the left. i don't see the point of a monster tacho though. unless its a drag car. who wants a bright light flashing in their eyes at night? stuffs your night vision. If you need the light to tell you when to change gear then there's something wrong. No offence. It's like all these jokers in rice cars.

Yeah true that i can shift no worries with stereo up not hearing the engine but hey, its more for visual and i dont flog it all the time to have the light gleeming in my eyes :P
I have set it up on right, i have speakers in my doors so thats not a problem with sound. Anyways here is the finished product.....

i like the auto meter with the shift light and if you dont want it blining you just put the cap on it or change the shift light setting so it comes on later....nice job on the install dexton_nath83 how id you find it? was it hard?

dude, when i race people at traffic lights etc.. you don't have time to look down at your dash and you can't always hear your engine (over other pplz zorsts) so thats why i'm looking at getting JUST a shift light, no point having a massive dial that goes to 11,000 rpm when most aussie motors barely get to 7,000... i shift at just past 5,000...
cat? isnt that an animal? no i dont want one in my exhaust system thankyou very much...

well i would show u step by step but i got a VL mate not a VN, this is the Vl area, try looking under VN and post it champ. It will be basic though. in your dash cluster find the signal wire(one from coil tap into the stock tacho signal wire) a decent earth and a 12volt power source(i ran mine from the back of my ciggie lighter) very simple it was
    good luck
