unsure also, but the holes in the steel for the magnets to fit through are there from the factory but every VL ive seen including my own have had speakers put in tho some peoples wiring jobs to them are a bit dodgy

I'd replace them anyway, they'll be old and cruddy, just like the 4" in the dash. Not worth anything. Well, you might get 20 dollars from some poor unsuspecting victim.

Cut em in after the RWC...Ask him if it'll still be roadworthy if you cut the metal out under the parcel shelf. As for getting wires there...just normal speaker cable, or better quality stuff if you want, thinking on upgrading mine. Run it down the side of the car under those plastic guard things, and to back, it's not hard. I ran my sub cables under center console, cut the carpet and fed em under the backseat to the boot If your gonna own a VL make sure you know how to do the little things cuz you gonna need to save your money for the bigger things.

As for the 4"'s old and cruddy? im thinking bout puttin em back in...I DO NOT RECCOMMEND PUTTING IN NEW 4" SPEAKERS (unless they are like good quality $150+ worth), too much wattage trying to be put out, just wrecks em, they try to act like subwoofers but they're not.

Well.. I know I wouldn't want 18 year old speakers in my car.

Take them out completely and replace them with some 6.5" splits

its dead easy to wire in speakers, i did it in mine an about half an hour! Just run the wire from the back of the head deck, run it just under the dash and tie it up with cable ties to make it neat. go left for the left speakers and right for the right then pull out the kick guards on each side, youll find and engine management comp on the passenger side, then pull up the plastic trims that sit under the doors and run the cables under them and that will take you to under the back seat. This just pulls out and will give you access to the boot then just run them up to where the underneath of the speakers will be and there you go. if you pay someone to do this you may as well set fire to your wallet.

I didn't want 18year old speakers in my car, that is y i replaced them. But they sound worse. The only thing i noticed about 6-6.5"s in the door and having no 4"s is the sound, just too noticeable that the sounds coming up from under you, dont know about you but i like my sound pumping stright into my ears have tweeters on the roof near the corners of the windsreen for that extra bit of sound Considering 6.5" in the door for some bass in the front, just gotta make some pods.
