If you have a straight 6 then it might be a 202, if that's the case it's highly illegal to have in some states as it's an older engine into a newer car
its the factory fuel injected 6cyl.
Then are you sure it's not a VK commodore or it's an RB30 engine? If you've got a factory fitted 202 VL then you've got one extremely rare car there as I imagine they would have smashed them all up in testing etc.
As for your problem sorry mate I wouldn't have a clue but no doubt someone will know
its 3.0ltr EFI
RB30 then.. give this a read mate, might be able to help ya out
VL WONT START - suggestions???
Yes sorry it si an RB30, my mistake. :b:
ok nsladden, has it started yet, if not, lets get it going. Please before you reply, check theres plenty of fuel, make sure the fuel is coming to the fuel rail by listening for pump sound and check rubber hose to fuel rail for pressure when ignition is turned on.
Now make sure you're sparking by holding No.1 lead 5-10mm above one of the nuts on top of the strut tower (3 nuts on top of suspension inside engine bay)
If you want more inches, STROKE IT!
car is stored at friends house so it might be a wek or so till i get down there.
yeah mate, i have changed about 5 of these in peoples cars over the years, Check the connection to the CAS sensor on top. I would take the distributor apart and look for red dust which would mean the bearing inside is stuffed.
Does it crank over but just not fire up??
Let us know mate i'll be able to work it out...
Yay! its finnaly started, the problem was a faulty fuel pump. All fixed now and running fine. Thanks for all your help guys. It much appreciated.
Great to hear!![]()
