MX7 Gear Box Problem

The problem is when the car is turned off its easy to shift though gears, but when i turn the car on and put the clutch in its hard to shift. Nothing is wrong with the fluid and i know the clutch is in good condition. Has anyone had this problem or know wats wrong with it. thanks

incorrect fluid! should be 75w85 at 2.4ltrs
if you can select reverse without a problem then it is not clutch related.
