Hi i just bought a shift light i just wanted to know the best spot to wire it up ?
Would it be same as a monster tacho where you have to put a wire to the negative side off the coil and which side is the negative on the coil anyways ?
And second question is i also bought a Air/fuel gauge to help keep a eye out on the whole fuel setup since i am going turbo so where would you wire that two exactly.
If anyone can please provide pics and instructions that would be very help full.
Thank you.
shift light is controlled by the tacho it came with.. so u wire up the tacho, and plug the shift light into tacho.
the signal wire, u wire up to the coil as u said, but get this wire in the main dash cluster loom. Its the Brown wire with red stripe. or the purple wire with black stripe i forgot. but try them both to get the signal.
As for Air/Fuel Mix it wires into your o2 sensor circuit.. but i dont see the point as it will be going crazy all the time as in Rich then Lean then Stoich soo it will annoy u.. :P
yer i didn't get a monster tacho i don't like them in a car with a well working tacho i didn't see the point so i just went the shift light only. I will try to wire it up to the cluster with the signal it should be the same as a monster tacho i guess.
With the air/fuel gauge i just want to keep a eye out on the vlt setup especially since im using n/a ecu for a while and rising rate fuel reg with vlt injectors. I dont want to lean out on idle or worst under boost. You know what i mean.
indeed man thats fair enough. safe than sorry.
So with the air/fuel where is the 02 cercuit ?

Have you got a pic where this 02 cercuit is ?

its very, very important to wire the gauge up right, and use SOLDER and HEAT SHRINK on the connections. Do neat work man. The gauge is taking the signal from the O2 sensor and this wire also goes to the ECU. The ECU must "see" good clean connections, and since the voltage is weak, and wire damage, water, or corrosion will change how the ECU works, and throw off the gauge. This is why the gauge needs to be grounded to the engine block. I cannot stress this enough. If you have a ground potential difference of 1 volt between your dash and engine - the gauge will never work.. And this seems to be the biggest issue when installing 02 Sensors
on the hot side of the engine is the 02 Sensor in the exhaust u need to wire into this Mez.

I have a fuel/air ratio, wired it in and works a treat!
yeah those shift lights just goto the signal wire
Yer cheers for that guys i will wire them up soon enough ;D

the tacho is feed from the coil, if you pull back the rubber boot/cover on it youll see there is 3 cables, 2 cables on one side and one on the other.
the smaller one from the two is your signal feed. the other is the 12volt supply and the other earth which is earth via the ignitor/transistor ... from memory
just use the wire behind you dash cluster, alot neater and less wire to run.
Its brown with red stripe. And it goes into your black main plug to the dash cluster.
think im hearing
............ more so Seeing an echo :P
seeing an echo? get off the gear man!
hahah well in text form Cracker
Thanks for that guys i will hook it up probably some time next week and i will let you know how i went![]()
