Hey just picked up a vl calais turbo. Its ment to be a genuine original calais turbo. Does anyone know how i can find out if it is
Forgot to say i have also called holden and they couldnt tell me because they said car was too old they didnt have anythin on there computers
on id tag if it has lw5 its factory turbo but unsure on the calais part
write the id tg down or take a photo of it and bring it on here and someone can tell you if it is a genuine calais or not.. thats the easiest way, otherwise you can check for difference between a calais and non-calais. Obvious signs such as the power windows etc.
smaller parts like the calais badge on the dash which are definately hard to come by if someone has done a swap are good things to look for
Go to calaisturbo and look on the forum, they will have a thread with what your looking for.
The rear seats have head rest there's sunny holder in te centre console electric windows, mirro in the glove box, look up the vin codes on google itl say for example l35 for calias this isn't the number either just one I made up
Not hard to mock up a calais
Model: VL8VX19-..... = calais sedan

Eng: LW5 = turbo

Hey guys here are the numbers
Model: VL8VX19-314
Engine: LF1
Can someone please tell me if this is a genuine calais turbo thanks
Looks like a non-turbo calais going by the previous posts...
Itsa calais , but not a genuine turbo by the looks of it
At 43 a wealth of info , but still heaps to learn
Probably cause it's the model code, not the VIN![]()
as above have stated, it is a calais, but LF1 is a standard rb30 not turbo.
