welll im up da creek witout a paddle..
as SUM of u know, i been ridin wit stockies on the back n my 17" vr clubby's on the front, last mon i went to Brunswick tyre service (speak to andy) to get new tyres so i could have 4 rims on the car.
but all to no avail, turns out when we cut the back springs, we knicked the coil underneath, which weakened and snapped off, therefore i cant fit the mag on the back right axle
gunna have to find a place to roll me guards then replace the springs n most likely the shocks.... money down the drain :b:![]()

cut springs lol.
i would rather have money down the drain then blood in the gutter.....cut springs are freakin dangerous, not just to you, but other road users and pedestrians. i think you should cough up the cash and count yourself lucky....

your a damned fool for cutting springs, thats all i can say.
how would u like one big pothole and have the springs literally fall outta the car on you? then suddenly your car is driving on shockabsorbers, which promptly get shoved through thereby dropping your car onto the road and demolishing your underbody.
mate, seen it happen. not pretty to look at let alone be the owner of.
bloke came into work once, had not long cut the springs (he cut superlows even further...) i assume the pressure on the shocks was so much it actually split one cardrige and leaked out the other one completely. car looked like it had been shot out bigtime.... not to mention hydroil all over the back brakes....
Is it recommended to change springs if they're cut? My car is just a bit lower than superlows and the springs are over 6 years old, still working for me though, cant full lock cuz it cuts on the guards with 2 or more ppl in it (unless really slow). Occasionally rubs on the shock pads in the front. How much would i be looking at for superlows, cuz im looking at getting the name changed over.
ok well king spring ultra lows are just friggin ridiculous!!! my mates has some on his vl and the back guard sits below the rim.........if your keen for a defect then they are $120 for 2
yeah superlows are good if you're looking for a way to jarr the fillings out of your teeth. and I_WANT_KW what is it with you and cutting springs. I think your mates should confiscate your angle grinder. You goose. LOL

Good lad.. Rear springs will be simple.. Compress the old ones, jack the car up some more and the springs will come out, compress the new ones, put them in.. lower the car. I think thats all thats involved with them.
Fronts.. I haven't done them. But the strut has to come out I'm sure.
LOL i wont even have to compress the old ones, chance are they'll fall right out. and yea i'm replacing the whole strut in the front, apparently it's easier to replace the whole strut than jst taking the front springs out!
cant WAIT to get the rims on the back! love driving past a shop window seeing the reflection of my car... small things ammuse my mind![]()

Cutting springs is for bush bashing cars. NOT for idiots that want the low look without paying for proper springs. Maybe get a better paying job and get the proper gear, Which youve now doneOriginally Posted by i_want_kw
Just for your info, I had a good mate of mine die because of some dick driving an unroadworthy car crashed into him due to "home jobs" caused by defective suspension!!!! And yes, it was investigated . . . Hes now in Jail
And to install it yourself, the rear isnt that hard, the fronts are more tricky. Buy a Gregorys manual and it will tell ya how to do it. Or get the front done by a mechanic, quicker, easier and less painfull
