    Default Vl reco head question

Gday, I've searched the site for quite a while to get a good idea how much it would cost to take an rb30 head to the head place to b fully reco'd with stage 2 cam and stronger valve springs? I've seen a few people talking about it, but their prices fluctuated so greatly I couldn't get a good idea. Cheers.

I spent $150 on getting my head faced, pressure tested and cleaned. I disasembled it and re assembled it myself and already had the wade camshaft. I'd be guessing up around $1000+ mark

the place i got mine reconditioned was about $250. it got faced, pressure tested, new valves, cleaned, crack tested and warp tested. Pretty good price for a reco, but i cant help you on the cam and valve springs. if you hunt around you can find alot of different prices like i did.

i did the assemble/disassemble myself too. so saved some money there

you may not need stronger springs.just get them tested for pressure
can you let me know what cam your talking about.my wade cam used standard springs.
with your valves just buy lapping paste and lap them in for a good seal.

good idea to get the cam tunnel welded for strength aswell.

shit vlc86 that was good new valves and all cut in etc all that for just $250?
you shore it wasnt just old valves lapped in?

nah mate. a guy at works dad did the job all for cash. Got an awesome deal out of it, it was about $370 or so including a VRS gasket kit.
The valves were completely gone, so he needed to replace them altogether.

I'd recommend getting the cam tunnel checked for cracks becasue that is the most common place for them to crack, and get it all welded.

Cheers heaps guys. That's all good info, Don't kno exactly wot cam I got, all I kno bout it is it's a Brescianni cam. They said it will b good for 10's with the right turbo. They also supplied the stronger springs. From vauge memory the lift was 550 or 560 according to the builder...(he had my cam card, then lost it) I may b a little off, like I said....vauge memory.
