vl tailshaft questions

Are all tailshafts the same?
I am putting a vl diff in my VK and it runs a supra 5 speed.
Which tailshaft do i need if they are different.

All aren't the same they are different lengths. Some are the same but I cant say for sure about VK to VL.

You need to take the front off the tail shaft (gear-box end) and the rear (diff end) to a fabricator, or experienced mechanic, tell them what your using it for, they may require some measurements, other than that, the rear end of the tail shaft will bolt straight onto your diff.

The salisbury diff has u-bolts holding the tailshaft to the diff....

The borgwarner diff has a flat plate with 4 bolts holding the tailshaft to the diff.
