rb30e timing

Hey ive just bought a vl and the bloke told me the timings out a couple of teeth, i dnt know much about the rb30 engine and was wondering if someone could give me a few pointers on how to adjust it without a timing light.

whats out a couple of teeth? the cam belt or the dizzy? you should be hoping it is the dizzy, that's easier to fix. and either way you are going to need a timing light to get it right.

nah the dizzys fine its the cam belt thats out, i went to supercheap today to price the timing light cheapest is 80 bucks, where do i start once i get that?
