How do you do it basically? and should you do it with a chipped ecu as mine is SUPPOSEDLY a 2nd stage Powerchip.
Wouldn't worry the chip.
Disconnect the battery and pump the break pedal a few times.
Done, Actually thats one way. Theres a proper way to reset the codes. But I can't remember that bit.
for a young bloke you're a bloody legend. you seem to know everything about VL's
The idea is just to drain all the juice out of the system so the ECU forgets all the things it's learned and restores the defaults. Resetting some of the codes involves things like driving above 5km/h to reset the speed sensor etc etc, but it's nothing to worry about.

Not everything.. I just read lots and take as much info in as I can. I've got the complete workshop manual around here somewhere too.Originally Posted by bangers

You won't delete anything really, its like a computer. You can turn it off and the data is still stored. But it will re-learn things. It's meant too, personally I don't believe in it though. As its meant to be continuously changing.
it actually does to minor degree. i know a bloke who got one off an old guy who putted it around and then he got it and reset the ecu. he gave it a bit of a thrashing and it would then automatically change gears later and go harder then when he bought it.Originally Posted by bextor84

But its continuously learning. All your clearing is really basic information. Which probably gets learnt everytime your starting the car anyway.
