Paint Prices???

anybody know what the average is etc...

like all the details possible??

umm. full body ones and everything... alll carpets pulled up and car sprayed and stuff like that!

aswell as clear coat finishs...

well... for 2pac paint PPG 2K, hifill, undercoat, etc from ford i paid bout 900-

and $400 for a mate to spray it with an oven.
unless you want an autosalon job, $1000 - $1500 is all i'd pay for a spray.

i know my car wont ever be the fastest, or the hottest car in vic or aust. so utilise wot u car and be happy with wot u can get i reckon!

Yeah, you can get cheap and decent sprays for around that.

I'm forking out 4-5k for mine. Turismo Mica over silver. Full rust repair, engine bay is getting smoothed out and sprayed. Passenger side lock is coming off. Fitting calais moulds and skirts Trims etc. Door jams.. Complete

oh tru i forgot to mention that, when spraying ur best to check the sills for rust, dodgy bastard will fibreglass them in, best off finding a place that'll replace the whole metal piece and bronze it up.
also i replaced the locks, front lights and tail lights while i was at it.
also the outside rubbers that rub against the glass and are known to leave scratch marks up n down the windows if they're not replaced, n when it comes time to tint ur windows, u need to replace the windows! at about $40- x 4 it's definately worth it

i had mine torn apart and sprayed absolutely EVERYTHING.... bar the firewall in the engine bay which is still black. cost me $180 per litre and used 7 litres but im happy with it because no one else has my colour and no one else around here will.....custom mix cost me ummmm i think 4 cartons of crownies to get it straight, sprayed and baked.

also how much if you know for just the paint work and say the rust out and anything else that is a MUST!

it was either go to melbs have a lok at the R32skyline half cut that was spoke of...
aghhh, i do the entire interior in a yellow or and orange or cream... leather.
or a paint job.... and im also stuck with my paint chipping away already....

i really should buy new rims but i gots like brand new high quality tread on these so i aint really looking forward to selling them yet...
will have to see how much i get!!

Where am I getting mine done. Through a friend of the familys panel beating business here in Rockhampton.

How longs it going to take. Well he's had it for a few weeks already to do the rust. But when I give it back to him next its only going to be 2 weeks. And thats stripping it all back, preparing the body, painting and fitting the new parts.

bakes just a controlled room.. kinda temp and humidity controlled type deal.

Gives a better finish, doesn't mean it has to sit in the sun for two weeks bla bla bla.

Yeah its possible to screw up, but if I was paying for it I'd be making sure I was happy.

Hasn't given me a specific figure yet. It was 4-5-6.. 6k max he says.. But he'll look after me and I've given him a deposit.

just that a mate of mine was saying about this kid he used to go to school with (i know him just never realised)
he does paint work... alot of airbrushing and has painted his car and what ever he can get his hands on!

like if we got the correct paint he could do it yeh?? like...

i spose its hard to say really... but he would take alllll the time he needs!
and would be extra extra careful!
could he screw it up very bad? =\

like i was thinking get him to do allll the silver for me =) that way if there is any drips or anything that is slightly disrespectful i wouldnt get him to do the body of the car!

When painting the bumpers, i heard you need to put a plastic primer on it and then paint over the top, should this be baked or should be right out in the sun ? What precautions should be taken with the side panels? Cuz it looks like ill break it if i pull it off. And for sticking it back on where abouts would you get double sided polyurethane tape from?

I'd love to paint the whole car but that'll cost a lot dough, cant see a reason to do it cuz the whole car is brown; exterior brown/interior brown,and not doing up the engine (hoping to do it one day (Sparkle Silver with Green Pearl), after i buy a house i guess that shit'll cost a fortune more in a couple of years), bumpers faded grey, tint; peeling. The bumpers colour now goes well with the tint, but they both need redoing. So info on the bumpers will be appreciated, cuz i'd be doin it myself if u haven't realised $400 otherwise

i just got an apprenticeship as a panel beater and thru this work i am gonna fully respray my vl to a blue lagoon colour with green pearl, gonna look shit hot?/ wot yas think? i was thinking of two toning but been looking around and colour coded bumpers look way the treat..
