I have a stock 86 man VL Commodore. I am planning of turbo charging my car. Is this a possible target. My salary cap is $5000.
My car is in good condition and I would like to turbo charge the motor in it rather than putting a reco turbo motor in it.
you can but the 86 blocks don't have the turbo supply/drain holes drilled into them as the 87/88 blocks do....so you have to drill and tap the holes into them.....
if you can get somebody to do it who knows what their doing then you should be able to do it no worries. but if you dont know what your doin, i wouldnt recomend doing it yourself!

i thought only the 88's did?

nah 86 was the only one that didn't have them in it.....that's the only thing that annoyed me about my car.....doesn't matter i building another motor anyways
Just series 1.. So whenever they switched over to Series 2 I thought?
yeah pretty much.....when did they do that?
Stuffs me, half way through 87 I'd assume?
You would assume correct, however an interesting note is that even the series one RB20 engines had the ports.
