First thing you should do is buy a workshop manual.
Then spend the day reading that.
After that get on google and search a whole bunch of idea's.

Pretty much just get a major service / full service done at your local mechanic, and tell them to check everything, belts oils coolant etc, and fix anything he tells you is an issue, then hit up the net, or post an idea on here asking how to do it and we'll help!

keep a spare dizzy handy as that will be the first thing to die, vls are known to have problems with the crank angle sensor and ignition module on the dizzy.

its easier to change the c.a.s insted of the whole dizzy if you dont know what your doing its a 5min job............

with the money your gona spend on the trans just convert it to manual
it will be cheaper to run
    funner to drive
and add $$$ to resale value later on in life

What risk I's there I'n converting it to manual? Why do u need a stally? It's a waist of money. You won't go no where with it and your car I's stock. I'll gaurantee you'll do a slap job on tray with a stally etc then you'll kill it
