Default Need your opinion on these prices

    Hey guys,

Some might know I'm doing The gearbox changeover soon. Well my mate crashed his r31 a while back, had a reconditioned fully manualised auto box in it for about 6 months I believe. I have been quoted $1400 to get mine reconditioned and put back in, which is a fair bit but a pretty average price.

I can get this r31 box for about $750 - $800 I think, but I need to remove it myself. And I would be installing it myself (with the help of others)

Need honest opinions on each path
    - pay $1400 and be confident the job has been done well with a warantee
    - pay $800 and do the removal/install myself
    - pay $800, remove it myself and then pay ~$300 for a workshop to install it for me

    Thanks

Not really interested in 5 speed. I know its more fun but I like my auto and its a stock auto so i want to be able to sell it as that

wouldn't say modded. Only cost the guy about a grand to get done including installing it. So its pretty much just a properly rebuilt auto so it lasts longer

Now definately leaning towards doing the work myself and saving the money
